<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<i>Sihanoukville was a place I had never heard of until Air Asia started to advertise about their new flights there. A quick google showed blue skies, white sand and crystal clear waters. I was tempted. I wanted to go somewhere that no many people had been nor heard of. Something different. </i></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<i><br /></i></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<i>I've never visit Cambodia before. Always wanted to go there but never got around to do so. So I was happy that with this trip I was able to visit a new country. The flight to Cambodia was short. The flight only took 1 hour 20 mins. Just nice for a weekend getaway, which is what my friends and I planned. A short, 3 days 2 night trip as my friend E said, there is nothing much there anyway. So 3 days and 2 nights is just right. Just so you know....this decision was not wise.</i></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<i><br /></i></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<i>The flight there was short and sweet. When we reached the Sihanoukville airport, the skies were clear and the sun was shinning. We were worried that the gloomy, rainy weather may had followed us to Sihanoukville. The airport was a tiny airport that only had another aeroplane on the tarmac besides the one we came on. So you can imagine how small and quaint it was. </i><i>All was fine until we got off the plane and entered the airport from the tarmac. It was total chaos. No clear directions on where the lines were and we just stood in a line that nobody was sure it leads to the immigration or elsewhere. The local immigration opened up another line and I was pushed aside as the local pushed thorough and started to pick their luggage which was just by the immigration. It was odd.</i></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<i><br /></i></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<i>Eventually I found myself in a line that I led me to the Visa line, which is not the line I should be on. My friends H & E was in another line behind me and with the crowd of locals behind me I had to keep on moving. It was funny because then when I reached further up I just hop to so-called line. There were no visible lines.....just group of people moving to the front. </i></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<i><br /></i></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<i>My friend H spotted an immigration office with a counter empty. So she just went to the counter and he proceed to stamp her passport. It was funny how he was just sitting there minding his business with the crowd of people waiting, not sure where to go. Anyway we go through the immigration easy enough. So it was a little weird but it was OK.</i></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<i><br /></i></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<i>Once we went out we saw a booth for taxis. I think it is a flat rate to any hotels as when we asked, he just showed us a ticket slip that states that it was USD20. On the hotel website they had also stated that it cost USD20 for a taxi and USD15 for a tuk tuk. Since there was 3 of us, we just decided to take the taxi. More comfortable.</i></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<i><br /></i></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<i>The journey to the hotel from the airport was only about 20 minutes. Some parts of the roads were smooth and some parts there had massive pot holes on the road. And like in Philippines, the drivers honks a lot but unlike in Malaysia where most honk because of frustration, it was just a friendly honk to tell the other drivers to either make way or so make sure the other drivers see them. Friendly kinda honk, if you know what I mean.</i></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<i><br /></i></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<i>When I booked my hotel, I wasn't sure about it. I opted for Otres 2 instead of Serendipity beach. With what little I can gather online Serendipity is more like a party beach and Otres is a more laid back beach. I read that the beaches in Otres were cleaner compared to Serendipity. I cannot voucher for that as when I went to Serendipity it was dark and it was totaly not my scene. I am glad I picked Otres beach.</i></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<i><br /></i></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhbBEB2WuPwZE2Sl406E5FixmMmSPgx6C9B2KfqPBimKBePwEmt2OcE2RYBRmU89rLznxX6GhdlLuTKsFh13kafLJysyRqvBi0Ay-TvDfYm53HhUhwGUrhF1mKPTsiS3UFw1f3r2ayd9TCE/s1600/23621381_10154981777421516_8529092388151658666_n.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="clear: right; float: right; margin-bottom: 1em; margin-left: 1em;"><br /></a><i>The hotel I picked was <a href="http://ren-resort.com/">Ren Resort</a>. I am so glad I picked this hotel. It looks exactly like the photos on their website and the service was excellent. Since there was 3 of us, I reserved the room with an extra bed. The room that was given to us was big and the funniest part was the shower has a glass that looks straight into the bathroom. This is not the first hotel I had stayed in with only clear glass separating the bathroom and the bedroom but i still find it weird. Of course there is a roman curtain that we can use to block but it is still weird to me.</i></div>

<span style="font-size: small;"><i>The best part about this hotel was that the wifi signals were awesome. Even as we were checking in at the reception, the hotel staff gave us a tiny slip of paper with the password of the wifi in the hotel. They have a few wifi names and all of them use the same password. This is to ensure that we truly have wifi connection wherever we went in the small hotel. At the restaurant they had a wifi named Ren Restaurant, then on the beach, which was like 2 steps away. It was nice to not to have to worry about internet connection at all.<br /><br /> After we had checked in, we went to the room and drop off our bags. Then we went down to the hotel restaurant which was on the beach. I have to admit, the view was awesome and it was truly a relaxing lunch. I tried my frist Khmer food, which was Fish Amok. It was delicious. Very creamy and taste a little like Otak Otak and it was yummy. Loved it.</i></span><br />

<span style="font-size: small;"><i>This was our view while we had our lunch.</i></span><br />
<br />
<span style="font-size: small;"><i>We walked the beach after our meal, just to check it out. However it was very sunny and we were all kinda sleepy due to the fact that we had to wake up pretty early be able to have a decent breakfast and catch our flight. So walked half way and then went back to the hotel to take a short nap. The bed was so comfy and before we knew it, we were all sleeping. H had told us that she will set the alarm for 5pm so that we can have some time to freshen up and catch the sunset. Well we slept till almost 6. Apparently H had set her alarm for 5am. We nearly missed the sunset, well I did. E and H were determined to catch it and rushed out of the room. I slowly walked down to the beach and caught the last remaining sun set. </i></span><br />
<span style="font-size: small;"><i><br /></i></span>
<span style="font-size: small;"><i>We checked some of the island hopping option and found that if we wanna go to Koh Rong, we will catch the ferry or a bigger boat and it cost USD22 per person, I think. But we had an option to just visit the 3 nearest island which was USD15 per person or rent the whole longtail boat for USD60. For an extra USD5 each, we will have our own boat and we can have our own sweet time. We decided to just rent the whole boat which was a great choice. The three islands that we were going are Kaoh Tres, Kaoh Chanloh and Kaoh Takeiv. </i></span><br />
<span style="font-size: small;"><i><br /></i></span>
<span style="font-size: small;"><i>I have to say there was nothing much to do there as it is truly a relaxing place. Some might find it boring, but we loved it. For dinner we decided to go into town. Decided to catch the Tuk Tuk down and it cost USD7 one way. Apparently if its in the day time, it only cost USD6 but once its night time price changes. Initially we were wondering why, then when we were on the Tuk Tuk, we understand why. The roads are dark and when there are no building or houses, it is totally dark and really bumpy ride. I guess it does takes some skill to drive on a bumpy road in total darkness. We gladly paid the extra dollar.</i></span><br />
<span style="font-size: small;"><i><br /></i></span>
<span style="font-size: small;"><i>This restaurant was recommended by the hotel staffs. The name of the place was Sardan restaurant. It is a training restaurant where they train young teenagers some life skills. All the waiters were young teenagers and the older ones are their teachers, as it states on their tee shirts. It is an interesting concept and we can see the kids learning how to pour wine the correct way, to serve the food with proper silver ware. The food there was amazing, however I kinda forgot the names of the dishes. Sorry. Was too hungry to take any decent pictures and I forgot the names of the food. But we tried most of their Khmer dishes as they stated in the menu. Food was delicious and the service was excellent. Like in the hotel, they immediately told us the password of their wifi without asking. </i></span><br />
<span style="font-size: small;"><i><br /></i></span>
<span style="font-size: small;"><i>After dinner we walked around the town looking for a supermarket. E wanted to buy some local junk food to bring home to Malaysia. However all they had were small convenience stores and Chinese or Taiwan supermarket which was something not very authentic. But they did sell some local beer and we decided to buy a can to try it. It only cost USD0.50. So cheap and water, it seems to cost more. We also noticed that there were a lot of hotel casinos in town. We did not enter any of it as we are not much of a gambler and also gambling in USD is just too expensive for us.</i></span><br />
<span style="font-size: small;"><i><br /></i></span>
<span style="font-size: small;"><i>The was pretty much what we did on the first day. I think I rambled a lot and I do hope this helps. I am trying to get share as much info as I can. I will try to write Day 2 as soon as I can. Till then...Aloha.</i></span><br />

<i>I just got back from a short, but awesome vacation with 2 of my girlfriends. After months of deadlines, stock takes, audits, VIP visits and lots of meetings, I am finally done with all of it for the year, except for a VIP visit next week, which I am not too worried about. This was a trip that I was really looking forward to and I have to admit, it was kinda like the light at the end of the tunnel where after all these busy months, I will finally get to relax....a little.</i></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<i><br /></i></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<i>When I told my colleagues and friends that I was going to Sihanoukville, they all asked the same question. Where is Sihanoukville? What is there to do in Sihanoukville? Is it expensive to go there? And how the heck did I know about Sihanoukville? To be honest, I never knew this place existed and I only came across it when I saw Air Asia was offering flights to go to Sihanoukville. It was when discussing about cheap flights to go places, one of my colleague told me to go to Sihanoukville first and tell him if it was nice. To be honest, the name just kinda stuck in head.</i></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<i><br /></i></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<i><b>Sihanoukville.</b></i></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<i><br /></i></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<i>It was about a week later one of my girlfriends commented about how cheap the flights were to go to Sihanoukville. A quick googled showed photos of white sandy beaches and crystal blue waters. I was curious and I knew if Sihanoukville is as beautiful as in the pictures I saw online, it would be a matter of time before it becomes over crowded and over commercialized as more and more people hear about Sihanoukville. Not mention that the flights would probably be expensive too.</i></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<i><br /></i></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<i>So on a spur of the moment I suggested to my girlfriends to take a short weekend trip there. In the past it was very hard to get all our dates aligned and go on a trip together. It would had taken us ages to decide and plan the trip however, this time around, on the dates that I had picked, everybody was free. Decision were quickly made and we booked the tickets on that same night. We booked it on the last day of the Air Asia promotion for flights to Sihanoukville and we not only managed to get the dates we want, we also got a pretty good deal on it. Round trip tickets to Sihanoukville was RM254 each. It was a steal.</i></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<i><br /></i></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<i>So we bought the tickets in May, so we had 5 months to wait before we could go on vacation. Like I said earlier, the trip to Sihanoukville was like the bright light at the end of the tunnel. The five months was hectic and I was crazy busy with work. Same went to my friends. We didn't really have time to research on what to do there. All we knew was that we would be spending time on the beach and relaxing.</i></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<i><br /></i></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<i>To be honest as the dates came closer, we started to google about Sihanoukville and I noticed that there were not much info on Sihanoukville. Most of the info I got were on budget backpackers who wrote about the budget hostels and the bar scene in Sihanoukville. Most spoke about how Sihanoukville was just a stop before going to other more interesting towns or how cheap the drinks were in Sihanoukville. While I do appreciate reading about their thoughts and experiences there, but that was not the information I was looking for. </i></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<i><br /></i></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<i>I found blogs writing about how dangerous it was in Sihanoukville and it was not safe to stay there. I have to admit, as I started reading these more and more of these blogs, I was getting apprehensive and was worried what I had dragged my friends into. They wrote about how the locals would repeatedly telling them to be careful of their surroundings and to guard your bags and phones as it would targets for pickpockets, snatch thief and robbers.</i></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<i><br /></i></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<i>There were some blogs that wrote about how beautiful the beaches were and friendly the locals were and how delicious the food was. But most of the blogs that wrote that were several years old and I really don't know if it was something I would really trust as it was several years old and the more recent ones write about how dangerous it was to go there and also how awesomely cheap it was to get drinks there. I was not sure which ones to believe and it did got me worried. So I read more and more about the things to do from what little articles and blogs that were wrote about Sihanoukville, ignoring the nagging voice in my head telling me that perhaps we should cancel the trip.</i></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<i><br /></i></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<i>But I am glad we didn't. We all had fun and regretted that we only planned 3 days for this trip. Since there were not much info on Sihanoukville online, I will try to share some of the info I have about Sihanoukville. Next post I will write about the hotel, the food and the wonderful beaches. So stay tuned.</i></div>

<i>Not too sure if anyone is even reading this but it has been a a while since I last posted. I had been wanting to post again earlier this year but I can't remember which gmail account did I use to open this blog. And I also don't remember password. And guess what? All this while, the gmail account and the password was stored in my phone. I didn't know it. </i></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<i><br /></i></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<i>A lot had changed since I last wrote and I am not sure if anyone is reading this blog but its just something I felt I needed to do. I quit my job from that miserable company and found myself a great new job. I had since moved to Kuala Lumpur, where I was able to reconnect with my old friends and was even able to make new friends, which is totally awesome. </i></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<i><br /></i></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<i>Why awesome, you ask? Coz I find making new friends when you when you start working at a new company is tough. Most of them have their own friends and is already with their own so-called squad. Yet I managed to make friends in the company. Some good and some....lets just say not too good. The one person I started to hang out more with was J. Gotta say, J is awesome and we had even gone travelling together, which is good coz from my past experience, finding a good travel buddy is hard. </i></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<i><br /></i></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<i>I had also been travelling, although not as much as I wanted. I had just finally, after almost 2 years in KL, settled. So I am trying to travel as much as I could. With what limited resources that I have, I will try to travel more. </i></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<i><br /></i></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<i>The highlight of my year was when I went to Cebu, Philippines. I had never been to the Philippine before and I am happy to go somewhere new. I loved it there. I enjoyed myself and I also pushed myself to do things I was not comfortable with. I also learn that some people never change and they are either oblivious to all the signs that we give them or just couldn't care less. </i></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<i><br /></i></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<i>I will post more on my trips on my next post. I am so happy that I finally got my blog back. Till next time....Aloha!</i></div>

I got back from Korea a couple days ago and I hate it. I miss Korea and I keep thinking about my next trip there. Although I did tell myself next year...no more Korea. Don't know how long I can keep that promise to myself. I need to go other place and enjoy other cultures. </div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
Anyway I was going to post some of the gorgeous photos of Korea, however most of the photos are in my friend's camera and I have yet to get it from them. Still waiting.... Well I will write more once I get the photos. Till then....aloha!</div>

I am finally back in Korea. This time I arrived in Busan first before going over to Seoul in a couple days. It has been 18 months since I was last in Korea. In fact it had been 18 since I've had a proper vacation. </div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
Busan is very different from Seoul. Where Seoul was the more sophisticated and elegant city, Busan I find it more down to earth and very different from Seoul. Although I had only a very small piece of Busan so far, I do know that in Busan, things are different.</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
We had a slight disagreement with a restaurant vendor who refused to serve us because we were a big party. Their excuse was that they had no table. I could see that there were empty tables but yet they turned us down. Which was very weird. This is the first I had ever encountered such restaurant. Most restaurants would welcome us not refuse us. So we went to another restaurant which sells the same stuff as the other restaurant did. We enjoyed ourselves and the food there. Absolutly delicious. I love how they fried the pollack fish. Yum!</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
Right now my friends are taking a short nap to catch up on their sleep and I am contemplating if I should just go out and see the neighboring streets by myself. </div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
Well that is about it. I will write more about the Guesthouse and the other stuff later when I return back to Malaysia. Till then just a little snippets while I am on the road. Till next time byeeeeee. ....<br />
</div>
KukuiGirlhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/09286309063787010170noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1528393816070251677.post-65227637966998015062014-10-26T00:03:00.000+08:002014-10-26T00:03:42.632+08:00Smart Shopping in Korea....I hope.<div style="text-align: center;">
<i>Each time I go to Korea, I will buy massive amounts of cosmetics and bring it back to Malaysia. While buying it, I tell myself that I will make myself use it, and not waste it by leaving it in there, in the box, till it expires. (Apparently there is an expiration dates even on cosmetics. Learn that the hard way.) I told myself that I will take time out of my busy schedule to put the mask on or put on the moisturizer before I go to bed. </i></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<i>I guess I can say that initially I did try. But after a while I kinda got lazy and as time goes by, I stopped using the Laniege Water Sleeping Pack or the expensive Snail Mask or the tomato lotion that swears to lighten your skin for at least 24 hours. The only things that I used were the Hello Kitty socks, the Laniege face cleanser and the BB cream. A waste, I know. </i></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<i>So this time around I plan to be smart about it. I am not going to go crazy and listen to whatever the sales person tell me and buy all the cosmetics products they recommended. I will shop smart. Buy lots of face cleanser and BB cream. (Tried CC cream, it just does not suit my skin) Also I need to buy a darker tint for my BB cream. Each time I ask for the darker tint of BB cream, the sales person will be shocked. Then they will tell me that the lighter tint will brighten my face. Yeah....it brighten it all right. My face looks fairer than my neck. So then I had to use BB cream on my neck to blend it in. Argh!! Each time I give in to the sales person and buy the lighter tint. I am weak, I know. No matter how much brightening or whitening cream, I am never going to be as fair as the Koreans. And I am OK with it. So this time around, I will remember to as for a slightly darker tint of BB cream.</i></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<i><br /></i></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<i>The last time I was in Korea, Etude House in Myeongdong was have some kinda sale. Almost everything in the all the Etude House was buy one free one. It was only for the Etude House in Myeongdong. Elsewhere like in Dongdaemun, didn't have the same deal. As you can imagine I bought a lot. This time around, I checked. No sales at Etude House or any other Korean cosmetic brands. I still have 13 days. Hoping that when I get to Korea, there will be some kinda sales. Fingers cross. </i></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<i><br /></i></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<i>For those who are reading to research about the cosmetics in Korea, I do have some advise for you. I can't advise you on what cosmetics to buy, coz even I don't know. I just buy whatever my friends or the sales person recommends. But I can help you save money. </i></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<i><br /></i></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<i>Do not buy Laniege Water Sleeping Pack or any Laniege products from the Laneige store in Myeongdong or where ever else you see it. The best deal is to buy it at the duty free store. I always go to the Lotte Departmental Store in Myeongdong. On the 10th floor of the departmental store (I think its 10th. Not too sure. If not sure just ask around) is the Duty Free floors. For the past 2 times I was in Korea, I bought my Laneige there. It's cheaper than at the Laniege store in Myeongdong. Both times my friends and I, bought 24 bottles to be shared among us. Apparently if you buy 12 bottles or more, you will get an extra 5% off the price. So we all got together and bought 24 bottles. After calculations, each bottle was about RM48. Very cheap, right? Compared to the price of Laneige Water Sleeping Pack in Malaysia, which is about Rm100, I think. However bare in mind that Rm was much higher last year compared to the rates now. But even so, I still think it would be way less than RM100. </i></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<i><br /></i></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<i>However the extra 5% is only for the Water Sleeping Pack, since it is their best seller. However before going to Korea be sure to print out the 5-10% discount voucher to be used at the Lotte Duty Free. I have to admit, I didn't even know about it till now. So I plan to print a couple of the vouchers and use it there. Last time I was there, they gave an extra 5% discount if I used my Visa card. Not too sure if I could also use the 5% discount voucher on top of the 5% discount. Would be great if it did.</i></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<i><br /></i></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<i>While walking to Lotte Department Store, I checked out the Etude House if there were any sales. They were having the Buy one get One free sale. While the Etude House products were cheaper at the Lotte Duty Free on normal days, but with the sale, buying it at the Etude House store in Myeongdong was cheaper. And I can also get a tax rebate at the airport for my purchases. So the key is to look around first and then buy. Don't just go buying it when you first see it. Also if I am not mistaken, the Etude House stores give more samples than the Duty Free Store. And in case you are wondering, Yes, I love Etude House. Their product suits my skin and its cheap. </i></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<i><br /></i></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<i>So the key is to look around a bit. Even when you go to Dongdaemun and you see a cute tee that you just have to get. There are so many other stall and also other shopping mall. Take your time and see. My friend, H bought this really cute top for 20,000 won. She wore it the next day and really loved it. So on our last night we went to Dongdaemun again coz she wants to get it another one. We went to a different mall and saw the same exact top for only 10,000 won. It really pissed her off. So while when we are on vacation we are some times, a little pressed for time, but we can also try to relax a little. </i></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<i>That is why H and I, love to go to Dongdaemun at midnight, since the place opens till 5am. Which is totally awesome! Instead of sleeping, we went shopping. On our last night in Seoul, we went to Dongdaemun and shopped till 3am. Although I do feel bad sometimes when I have to wake the ahjumma up to ask for the price of the item. But it was great coz when we got back to our hostel, we showered and and got ready to go to the airport to catch our flight back to Malaysia. Since I didn't get any sleep the night before, I actually slept the whole time on the flight back to Malaysia. Close my eyes when I was in Seoul, opened my eyes and I am back in Malaysia. </i></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<i>The next things I am going to buy is socks! I am going to buy a lot of socks from Korea. Each time I go there I will buy lots of the cute Hello Kitty or any cute cartoon socks. It's cheap and I love the prints. There are 3 types of socks. There are cheaper ones that are 500 won, which is about RM1.60. Have random cute cartoons on it. I have never bought them, so I am not sure about the quality. The ones I bought were the 1,000 won. (RM3.20). Quality is not bad but after a while the socks will loosen. Last trip, I bought a few of the 1,500 won socks.(RM4.80) Those socks are a little better quality and it last longer than the cheaper ones. I guess you get what you paid for. While I don't mind the 1,000 won socks, I think I will try to buy a few 1,500 won socks too. I guess technically, I'm not telling you how to save money on buying socks but just giving ideas? </i></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<i>OK, enough of my crazy ramblings. Writing about Korea is making me more excited about the trip. Can't wait to go away for a week and forget about work and just enjoy myself. If you have any questions, please feel free to ask in the comment section. Till next time byeeeee.... </i></div>

<i>So much for my new year resolution of keep up my blogging. Seriously I have no idea where all the time went coz one minute I was reminding myself that I need to write something on my blog, the next thing I know its 10 months later and I just suddenly thought of my blog. How weird is that?</i></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<i>So perhaps I will try once again to write some of my random thoughts and random whatever in this blog. My friend LN says a blog is a good place to keep my thoughts so after a while, I will read what I had written, and probably agree that I was a total ass. Well the ass part was my thought, but you get the gist.</i></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<i>The main reason I started to think about the blog was because I am going to go on my yearly trip to Korea soon. In about 2 weeks time, in fact. It's not supposed to be a yearly trip. It was supposed to be yearly trip to anywhere but Korea...but I just couldn't do it. I had to go back there again. Korea is a place I find myself very comfortable with. I don't know why. Perhaps the people, the place or the food. I just love it there. Weird I know, but I can't help it.</i></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<i></i><br /></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<i>I had decided if I do go back to Korea again next year, I will go on other trips too. Not one grand trip a year and I spend the year waiting for the trip. This time around we are going in the Fall coz I am determined to see the foliage. Never seen it before and I wanna see it. Experienced snow, summer and spring. But not Fall. So I do hope I get to catch the Fall foliage. But with my rotten luck with the whole mother nature thing, I might end up looking at bare trees when I get there, Foliage over and all I see bare trees and freaking cold. </i></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<i>This time around I am going with a whole new group of friends. LY and J is coming along, of course and 2 other new friends, MC and PC whom I had become friends with over the course of these few months. I had traveled on short trips with LY and J. We were in KL for a long weekend, spend our time eating most of the time. We got along great and they are great fun to hang out with. They are very different from me and I think it is very good. From LY I learn to be more organized. Well can't say I had mastered it, but I am trying to be more organized. </i></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<i>For the KL trip LY planned out the itinerary for each day. While we didn't follow 100% of the itinerary, but it was always good to know what to expect next. She would have the numbers of the place we wanted to go and operating hours of the the locations we were headed to. It was amazing. While most of the time when I travel with H, we were fly by the seat of our pants kinda girls. Always last minute changes and we just randomly plan out the itinerary. Both of us were not good planners. </i></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<i>But for this trip to Korea, LY made an itinerary for every day of the week we are there. She had the address, the operating hours and the entrance fees all calculated. It was amazing. There were excel sheets emailed back and forth between LY, J and I, with various alterations in the itinerary. Yes I learn something. </i></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<i>With J, she is like the treasurer of our group. She normally handles the money aspect of any trip we go on. Each time we go on our foodie outings, shes the one that keep tracks of the expenses. Something that I am never good at. I am learning so I try to keep track of all my expenses. So far I am not succeeding coz I am bad at it. But I do try.</i></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<i>MC and PC are my colleagues and they are way younger than LY, J and I. I am pretty nervous about having all of them on this trip. I am not sure if they would get along with each other. LY and J are more refined and more mature while PC and MC are so much younger and well....not so refined, shall we say. But I am taking this as a learning experience and hopefully they do get along, especially for that 1 week. </i></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<i>Well I think this post is long enough...and it is time for me to go to bed. Hopefully I will have some time to come back and write more about the preparations for the trip. My random erratic thoughts on the trip. And perhaps some gorgeous foliage photos from Korea. </i></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<i>Till next time. Byeeeeeeeee </i></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<i><br /></i></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<i><br /></i></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<i> </i></div>
KukuiGirlhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/09286309063787010170noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1528393816070251677.post-75021462363313444602014-01-03T01:00:00.000+08:002014-01-03T01:00:39.308+08:00Happy New Year!! Can't believe that its 2014.<div style="text-align: center;">
First off, I would like to wish whoever that is reading this, a happy new year. 2013 has been a very tough year for me. In Sept, I lost my father and while we were not close, he was my father. I do miss him. Sometimes I would do something that he had taught me or something he had lectured me endlessly about, I would hear his voice telling me over and over again. Reminding me what he had taught me. While I am sad with my father's passing, I do think that he is in a better place. And life goes on.</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
I finally got a job I really like. I enjoy going to work and while it time consuming and sometimes is rather irritating, I do find it interesting. Being a store manager of a large clothing store, was a little daunting at first. I had to lead a group of people to do best. Sometimes, I feel like I am headmistress and all my staff are students. Some a good and hardworking, and some lazy and trouble makers from the get go.</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
After 3 months working there, I had to terminate about half of the staff in the store leaving me with barely enough staff to run the store. Even now, I have a tough time getting enough staffs to work. Each day I get new challenges to different problems and I have had not encountered before. While it does keep the job interesting, it also make me really weary with the job. Ok, enough whining about the job.</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
In 2013, I have also lost friends. No....they didn't die. I lost their friendship. My friend, H, whom I had known for more than 10 years did something that totally pissed me off. While she knew I was angry, she didn't try to make it right. Instead she made fun of me. That pissed me off even more. I stopped talking to her for quite some time. Although we are in talking terms now, the friendship had changed. We don't talk as often, and we have stopped sharing our thoughts and feeling. Either way, the friendship we had is gone. I don't think it will ever come back.</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
Another friendship was my friend L. She was my brother's ex girlfriend, While we were very different, I had always considered her as a good friend. Soon after she got married and had a child. After that she just stopped calling me. Even when my dad passed away, she didn't call, nothing. It was all of a sudden I don't exist. Her world just revolves around her family and husband. OK, you might think I did something wrong to make her angry at me. But I didn't. Our last conversation we had was trying to decide where to go for coffee. In the end we canceled coz she was busy. I don't understand what happened but I really don't care anymore. She is in the past and I will leave it there, in the past.</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
However the wonderful thing in 2014 is that I found two wonderful friends, LN and J. I had known LN since my university days but we never got close. But then we started hanging out and before I knew it, we were friends. J is LN's friend whom I had come to know and love. They are wonderful girls and I enjoy hanging out with them. So I have 2 new friends, which in my age, its rather tough to make new friends. Especially with my work and family obligations, who has time to go out and meet new people.</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
One of my new year resolution is to write in this blog whenever I have the time. I had neglected this blog long enough and I will try to at least write something once a week. It was LY's idea to write and record my life as I live it. I think its a good idea. While I don't go or do anything exciting, I can at least leave my thoughts and feeling out there in the internet universe. Nobody has to know but me....</div>
KukuiGirlhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/09286309063787010170noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1528393816070251677.post-25221668361763944542013-04-13T00:56:00.001+08:002013-04-21T03:25:58.751+08:00Where Are All My Cherry Blossom?Tonight I dragged all my friends out <u>into</u> the freezing cold to go to the National Assembly to see the cherry blossoms. Before we left I called the tourism information bureau for some details about the cherry blossom festival. I was told that the festival just started and very few cherry blossom are blooming. But I was sure I will some cherry blossoms. And the total amount of cherry blossom I saw was....nada. So sad. Very disappointed. As you see from the photo I posted, all I saw was the bare trees of the cherry blossoms and also the wonderful night view of the city skyline.<br />
Tomorrow I will be going to Jeju island and I know, for a fact that cherry blossoms on Jeju island is truly blooming. So hopefully I will finally see it. I also hope that when I get back to Seoul on Monday that the cherry blossom at National Assembly will start to bloom. Please......<br />

I finally made it to Korea again. I have to admit there were times where I was not sure if I would be make it back here again. But I did!! So many wonderful things to tell you about. That will all have to wait till I return. Till then...Aloha!<br />

KukuiGirlhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/09286309063787010170noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1528393816070251677.post-51060290293944979812013-03-20T14:14:00.001+08:002013-04-21T03:26:35.254+08:00Where Is My Prince Charming?<div style="text-align: center;">
When I was young, my dreams were to find the perfect man, preferably someone like Prince Charming, get married and have two beautiful kids. I used to tell my friends, that it doesn't matter that the man I fell in love with has no money, because all we need is love. And then I grew up. While I do not need a rich Prince Charming, I want one that can support himself and I do not have to support him. Reality set in and I realized, dreams and reality are really different. Then I was told that I have to kiss a lot of frogs before I find my prince and that is what I had done. Kissed a lot of frogs....but still no prince.</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
Some of my ex boyfriends were a real duds, but there were some that were total keepers, but unfortunately they are not mine to keep. The real duds, were just some guys I dated when I was in University. They were fun to hang out with but I just couldn't see myself making a commitment with them. And I think the same goes to those guys. I remain friends with most of them but one. </div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
The keepers were the ones I actually really liked and at some point of the relationship, I can see myself being with this one person for the rest of my life. When the relationship take a serious turn, I have to admit, I would just turn around and start running. While I could see myself being with them, I also could see that I was miserable. I was not happy. I don't know why. I see my parents marriage that for the past 20 years, where I see my dad checking out of the marriage and my mom still holding on to the hope of my dad coming back. I do not want that for my life.</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
So I guess after a while, I decided I will just let it happen, if it happens. If not, I am prepared to live my life as I see it. Which brings me to my life now. I am still single, not really looking but if a prince charming do decide to sweep me off my feet, who am I to complain, right? I like my single life and I like the freedom. I have friends, who like me, are single and we are enjoying our singledom. </div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
For the past few days, I have been staying with my friend, E and her family. She has a loving husband and two adoring sons, who might be a little handful at times but they were good kids. At the ages of seven and two years old,my friend, E has her hands full. At E's home is where I found out that having kids is never going to be in my future. Helping E by keeping an eye on her two year old for twenty minutes taught me that in order to have a child, you need to young so that you could keep up with the kid. I have to admit, after the twenty minutes, I was totally wiped out. Tired. I needed a nap to recuperate.</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
I find myself now revising my dream fairy tale of Prince Charming. I want a working Prince Charming that can support himself. The two kids has been replaced with two adorable cat or dog and while all my friends like E, have their wonderful memories with their kids, I will want to make our memories out in the world. Travel and see the world. So now....is that too much to as for? A nice Prince Charming??</div>

Last April, my friend, H and I went to Seoul, Korea. We were there for a total of 4 day and there was just not enough time to totally enjoy Seoul. My main goal was to see the cherry blossom blooming in Seoul but we were too late. By the time we got to Seoul, the cherry blossoms were all gone. So when there was another sale on Air Asia, we decided to get tickets to go to Seoul again. </div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
When we were in Seoul, we were told that we should take the subway and not the taxi as the taxi is expensive. However, we both found out on our last day in Seoul, that it was not true. I think the taxi was reasonable compared to the endless staircase that we had to take going up and down to the subway. It was tiring. I can't recall which station it was, but the connecting station to another subway line was so far, both of us were totally wiped out by the time we reached the connecting subway. <br />
<br />
This time, there will be 5 of us and we will be going to Jeju island too. I had always wanted to go to Jeju island, but my last visit was too short. There were barely enough time to see Seoul, much less Jeju. So this time, I knew what to expect and had set out a plan to what to do and where to go. Hopefully, we will stick to that plan.<br />
<br />
This would be the first time I go traveling with the other 3 girls. I had asked if any of them had any suggestions or any request for this trip and so far, none of them had came back with any feedback. So I wrote down a rough guideline and itinerary for our trip. I will be going to where I wanna go and they will have to follow, which is fine by me. I am really looking forward to this trip.<br />
<br />
The reason I am saying that I might go to Korea is because I am not sure. In my life, I had realized that whenever I plan for something fun, something will always happen to ruin it. Time and time again, I've had to cancel trips and outings because of whatever stupid reason that might come up. So I am prepared. Until I am safely in the plane flying to Korea, I am going to say, I might go to Korea....I think.</div>

Tomorrow I have a job interview and I am rather nervous. I have been in between jobs for quite some time and I feel it is time for me to get a job. I miss having the financial freedom to go shopping and travel. That is what I missed the most, the money was good. I really do hope I get this job as I rather like this job and I think I can do this job well. </div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
So wish me luck, ok? </div>

Sorry it took me so long to write this entry but I did have a rather
busy week with Chinese New Year and all. Then I was all caught up with life and whatnots. Whenever I was free, I found other things to do and I guess I was kinda lazy too. Anyway here I am, trying to finish my entry. <br />
<br />
After we left Pulau Aman, we went looking for this famous floating seafood restaurant. At least I was told, it was famous. I have not heard of the restaurant before but then I am not really an adventurous foodie kinda person. What I mean is, I would go anywhere for food, however I am not the kind of person who would spend my day reading foodie blogs looking for a next new place to go. I guess I am more of a follower and I am looking cause my friends are the adventurous kind of people and I get to follow them.<br />
<br />
We got lost on the way to the restaurant. We used Waze app on our cell phone to help us get to the restaurant, however we took a wrong turn and didn't realize it till later. And the funny part was that the Waze just kept us driving on and on. Weird, right?<br />
<br />
Anyway, we finally found the restaurant with some help from a human and not an app. So here it is, we finally made it to the restaurant.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEg_3ZmwEjVvaJ7xdBWjJy2SZBVo8TimLx1N-BKYXyz4QJiXujvQ0D-J7zDnU-2LD5Ms51bg6K3MgENFq5A_WIrSise9zEWcrwhHHntGesJqMVIzrf-bQZH66trydZgulZ-OGFjbKv3gHuDJ/s1600/20130202_131728.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="300" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEg_3ZmwEjVvaJ7xdBWjJy2SZBVo8TimLx1N-BKYXyz4QJiXujvQ0D-J7zDnU-2LD5Ms51bg6K3MgENFq5A_WIrSise9zEWcrwhHHntGesJqMVIzrf-bQZH66trydZgulZ-OGFjbKv3gHuDJ/s400/20130202_131728.jpg" width="400" /></a></div>
<br />
The waitress there was as helpful as she can. We are not sure if she really understood us when we ordered. She was speaking Chinese but we are not sure what dialect she was actually talking in. When we spoke to her in Hokkien she seemed to understand then she would answer us in Mandarin. So my friend would then reply to her in Mandarin, she would then look confused. Once we have finally ordered, we were worried that she may not get our orders right. But she did get it right.<br />
<br />
The food is pretty yummy. I loved their steam fish. It was something different and I have never seen fish steamed like that. It's called Steam Fish Assam Laksa style. It's was good. I always like food that is slightly sour. So it was good. It even have the white Laksa noodle and pineapple in the dish.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhtSTuXfJu5tZzTTTRHrb4IMf3ScAhrsy03QzvYaZiwtRiinViI7jihGQ7G2n7xWiwiiKbidWIdrHv8Fu6RVLfjq4osB1IA1IEwF3e6ZYzRgX8BLMcQwrfW4tQNVYN65xHKu127Ff5J9Xl-/s1600/20130202_134645.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="300" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhtSTuXfJu5tZzTTTRHrb4IMf3ScAhrsy03QzvYaZiwtRiinViI7jihGQ7G2n7xWiwiiKbidWIdrHv8Fu6RVLfjq4osB1IA1IEwF3e6ZYzRgX8BLMcQwrfW4tQNVYN65xHKu127Ff5J9Xl-/s400/20130202_134645.jpg" width="400" /></a></div>
<br />
OK, I have to admit, I am a rather lazy and impatient person, especially when it comes to food. I should had taken more pictures, but I only took the one that I find most interesting. The steam fish assam laksa style. The rest of the dishes were good and its pretty much the normal dishes. Nothing special.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEh4K3FgByei33TDkI2HA611m706CtcjOdVqFWxHhSCFbR9Ll-P05bg3an6xX7KGiFQ8GbJzQnTUEQfLiayEVd3y6CukhJyw4oR4S2F1lorM3CJE4KhzzU-s5i2u2gND6OWkfVFkUX93xXTq/s1600/20130202_145207.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="300" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEh4K3FgByei33TDkI2HA611m706CtcjOdVqFWxHhSCFbR9Ll-P05bg3an6xX7KGiFQ8GbJzQnTUEQfLiayEVd3y6CukhJyw4oR4S2F1lorM3CJE4KhzzU-s5i2u2gND6OWkfVFkUX93xXTq/s400/20130202_145207.jpg" width="400" /></a></div>
<br />
As you can see the restaurant is floating on water. The water is murky but we can see some fishes. They even have some live crabs. I saw the employee feeding the fishes. I saw him grinding some meat in the grinder and threw it into the water. Yes...he was feeding the fishes meat. Weird, right?<br />
<br />
We had our late lunch and we decided that we needed some pampering. So we went for a nice, relaxing foot reflexology. It was a very relaxing and I could hardly keep my eyes open. It does hurts a little but it feels so good. After the relaxing hour, it was time to go to our next restaurant.<br />
<br />
This restaurant is also very well known. The restaurant is known for their steamboat and their unique soup base they used for their steamboat. Instead of some meat based soup, they actually use a fish and yam based soup. It is really tasty and very delicious. Milk is added to the soup for an extra taste.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhHz9WwXT-N0BSXFK6ChrbyYn2GsRxycnzMVlZ_rEnVqjAHuRlS7h0zMeSKkR_bq4lkOprXEap8icf7QXlmq45CRQQN9oyDOGHj0xOT2OUtIbZKNcUqJjvR9ul4ckqO90LyeHZ3-Q8Athgx/s1600/20130202_183035.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="300" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhHz9WwXT-N0BSXFK6ChrbyYn2GsRxycnzMVlZ_rEnVqjAHuRlS7h0zMeSKkR_bq4lkOprXEap8icf7QXlmq45CRQQN9oyDOGHj0xOT2OUtIbZKNcUqJjvR9ul4ckqO90LyeHZ3-Q8Athgx/s400/20130202_183035.jpg" width="400" /></a></div>
<br />
Doesn't it look delicious? My friend told me that the reason we are there early was because if we were to go later, the restaurant will be packed. Even at 6pm, the restaurant is half full and customers are steadily filling up the restaurant. When I was leaving, a long line form outside, waiting for any available tables. Business is good.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgzQRLcjtRGRNwayalN8yqd2lN4QwwG8mShrdYbARmRIV4HlfOeJ31whI86gcwS0ld_LpLFugXDHj8f13gExkFaJRF-XijF6mKouHhOhOU4qJ5Qg6Vbx0qR0tKg-T4TKkvfJd2PpZ9EIWgL/s1600/20130202_182422.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="300" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgzQRLcjtRGRNwayalN8yqd2lN4QwwG8mShrdYbARmRIV4HlfOeJ31whI86gcwS0ld_LpLFugXDHj8f13gExkFaJRF-XijF6mKouHhOhOU4qJ5Qg6Vbx0qR0tKg-T4TKkvfJd2PpZ9EIWgL/s400/20130202_182422.jpg" width="400" /></a></div>
This is the name of the restaurant.<br />
<br />
With our full stomach we decided to take a walk and visit the near by Chinese temple. If I am not mistakens, the name of the temple is the Nine Emperor Temple. Since its almost Chinese New Year, The whole temple was lit up with lanterns and it was beautiful.<br />
<br />

<div style="text-align: center;">
After walking around the temple, my cell phone were running out of battery so I just snapped a many as I can before my cell phone died on me, but it never did. Which was a bloody miracle cause the low battery beep kept beeping, reminding me.<br />
</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
I had a wonderful time and I realized that I really need to go out more. In the past I had friends inviting me to join their with their outings and I had always found an excuse not to go. I was so comfortable staying at home, that I just didn't want to leave my house. I am so glad that I went out with my friend L and since this outing, I had been going out more, making new friends and just enjoying life. I guess you're never too old to make new friends and experience something new.</div>

Last weekend I went for a food expedition with some friends and I really had a blast. I have lived in here for most of my life and there are still places I've never gone to. Places that I didn't even know existed until now. And these places are less than an hour away from where I live. So let me share with you my fun filled weekend, ok?</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
The day started early, leaving my house at around 9am. My friend, L picked me up and introduced me to her ex colleague, C, who is here for a holiday. So it was out mission to take him out, go to some unique places and to have some good food along the way.</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">

Out first stop was at the Gua Musang Jetty, where we wait for the boat to take us across to and island called Pulau Aman . Before this, I don't even know there is an island called Pulau Aman. So when L invited me to go with her, I decided to just go and see the place for myself. When we reached the jetty we saw a boat has already left the jetty going towards the island. According to the schedule posted there, the next boat was at 12, which meant we had to wait for another hour. However I was later told by one of the vendors there, that the schedule is only applicable for weekdays. On weekends, the boats have no fixed schedules and it depends on amount of people there waiting for the boat. I guess on weekends, more people would go to the island.</div>

Here are some of the fisherman's boats. The island is a fishing village so I would assume that most of the men living on this island is a fisherman. You can see the water is really muddy and I see those mud fishes, no idea what it is called, on the mud. It's low tide, so the mud is even more obvious. </div>

This is the oldest Breadfruit tree on the island. It was planted in the year 1890. I feel that a tree this old, should not have an advertisement stapled to its trunk. Seeing as this is one of the few attraction on this island, I keep they should try to preserve it, not use it to put on advertisement. </div>

This is an eagle that we saw and I have to admit I have never seen one up this close before. It is actually a pet and it would just sit there and just make his eagle calls. It is cute, but also very scary. While I was taking this picture I kept praying that it would not fly at me and claw at my eyes. The owner came out to feed it small fishes and told us that the eagle is harmless. While there is no chain or cage to keep it there, it just stood there. I thought perhaps they clipped his wings, but the owner said that it still flies around. So I guess this is a domesticated eagle. </div>

This is the biggest restaurant on the island. Its supposed to be a floating restaurant and I guess when the tide is high, it would look like the restaurant is floating, but because its low tide, you can see the stilts. They are known for their Prawn noodles. There is also a vendor that would sell fresh seafood that the fishermen would bring in and you can buy it from the vendor and asked the restaurant to cook it for you. L was looking for mantis, but they are out of mantis. </div>

The man in the white shirt is the owner of the restaurant. He is placing some kinda clams or oyster there,and I guess he waits for the high tide to come in. This is the prawn noodle that I tried at the restaurant. It was very tasty but also rather spicy. L said it was not spicy and I guess to her it is not spicy. I don't really like spicy food, so to me it is spicy. I did manage to eat most of it and I have to admit, despite the it being too spicy for me, it was tasty. Next time I think I will order the prawn fried rice. </div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
Anyway after I had my noodles we left the island on the boat. I would go back to try out other seafood and remember to order the fried rice. And hopefully they will have other seafood for me to try. </div>

My cell phone is driving me crazy! Before using Samsung, I was using an iphone. It was given to me as a farewell present when I left Hawaii. It was the first generation iphone and I loved it. When I brought it home to Malaysia, not many people in Malaysia had and iphone. In fact it hasn't even been release in Malaysia yet. For once, I was the gal with the cool phone. Lasted for a couple months then iphone was available in Malaysia.</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
The iphone came up all the new models but I stuck to my old iphone. It might be old, but it sill worked and I loved it. After having the same phone for 5 years, I decided to change my phone. I was tempted to get the latest iphone but I figured after 5 years with an iphone, perhaps it was time for me to move on and try something new.</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
I picked the Samsung Note. The part that it was bigger than other phone yet small enough for me to put in my back pocket appealed to me. Most of my friends had Samsung phone and they were all so happy with it. Always showing me the cool stuff the phone could do while my dinosaur iphone was seriously lacking. So I decided, the Note will do just fine. </div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
Three days after getting my phone, I started to regret. The phone makes no sense to me while the iphone made perfect sense. Initially I thought because its all so new, so it needed to get some getting used to, but its been a year and I am still having problems with my Samsung phone. I hardly have any problem with my iphone while for Samsung, I kept getting problems. Perhaps I am not tech savvy enough to understand the Samsung inner workings, but iphone was so much easier. The funniest thing I is that when I first bought the Samsung Note, I figured write a text would be much easier than iphone, since the Note screen is much bigger. It not true. I made way more mistake on my Note than the iphone. I don't know why. </div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
The reason for this rant is because I wanted to transfer the pictures in phone to my computer and the computer cannot detect any pictures or videos on my cell phone. The last time I tried, the computer could not detect the phone. Argh!! I miss itunes, where I just have to plug in the the iphone and everything comes up on itune. Why can't it just work?? </div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
So instead of writing about the wonderful time I had yesterday and sharing the pictures, I am writing about this. The pictures I took are all in my cell phone and I can't transfer it to my computer so I could properly write the entry. Hopefully next time I try it will work. Wish me luck!</div>

Leaving raw chicken in the trunk of your car while parked under the hot sun is something you should not do. Some common sense would tell you that parking the car under the hot sun while you run into the mall to have lunch and buy other groceries is not advisable. While I have to admit, I was with my friend when this happened, I thought we were going into the mall to quickly grab a couple things. A quick dash to the Jusco to grab the lamb, soda and some chicken drumsticks for the BBQ. However that was not the plan. The plan was lunch, a leisurely walk to a Korean cosmetic store and then to Jusco for the food items. I forgot about the chicken as it was not my purchase and my purchase were 3 nectarines, which was fine being left in the trunk. Could chicken that was left in the trunk of a car for 2 hours be safe to be eaten? I don't know. My friends are willing to give it a go. So I will tell you how it went. If any of my friends got food poisoning from the chicken. I am going to only eat the drumsticks as it was bought at Jusco and was not in the trunk of the car. The drumsticks are also marinated separately from the chicken wings so I don't have to worry. But I do hope the chicken is safe to be eaten. Will warn all my friends before they start eating it. 'Eat at your own risk'.</div>

In Malaysia, the Chinese have their own way of
traditions and believes that most pregnant woman will follow. While I
am sure these traditions and believe has its reason, some of it, I don't
understand. So what I want to write about is the traditions and believes that is imposed on all Chinese pregnant ladies in Malaysia. While some choose not to believe in it and carry out their pregnancy like the rest of the world, there are some that really stick with their believes and try to follow it this tradition. Here are a few examples...<br />
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
According to the chinese tradition, it is ok to eat sushi that contains raw fish. Apparently raw fish is good for the baby but no octopus or any squid, because it is believed that if the pregnant lady ate a squid or an octopus, the long tentacles will wrap around the baby's neck and kill it while the baby is still in mother's womb. When I first heard this, I tried very hard not to laugh out loud because this is one of the most ridiculous thing I ever heard of. How is it, that raw fish filled with bacteria, is good for the baby and squids are bad. Does it mean after we eat the squid or octopus, the squid/octopus will come alive and continue to grow while makes its way down to wherever the baby is, with a mission to kill the baby?? Seriously?? </div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
A pregnant woman is not allowed to carry or hold a scissors. I don't know why but apparently it is not allow. It is not like the pregnant woman is running with a scissors around the house, but according to tradition, they are not allowed. I did ask my friend what was the reason, she could not answer me but she still follows it. So when a stitching in her top came loose, she told me where the scissor was and told me to cut it for her because she is not allowed to hold a scissors.</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
No soda or carbonated drinks because the bubbles is bad for the baby but for pregnant woman can to drink copious amounts of coffee or any other caffeinated drinks. Initially I though it was because of the caffeine in some of the carbonated drinks so I gave her a list of non caffeinated carbonated drinks. But she told me the bubbles from the carbonated drinks is bad for the baby. Why, she don't know.<br />
<br />
There are other Chinese traditions to follow after the woman has given birth. One that I find very hard to understand is that for the first 30 days after giving birth, the woman is not allowed to take a bath or shower. My best friend E, when she gave birth to her first child, her mother told her she is not allowed to wash her hair, no AC and no fan. There was a long list of food she is not allowed to eat and she would have to consume a massive amount of ginger.<br />
<br />
I think E was able to stand the whole no-shower ordeal for about a week before she could not take it anymore. She locked her door and took a long shower. Her mother was upset, saying that taking a shower would cause serious damage to her body. I think in the past, a long time ago, they would use well water or perhaps river water to bath. The bacteria filled water would had not be good for a new mother. But these days, water are filled through reservoir and now we can hot water whenever we want. I don't see why these rules needs to still followed.<br />
<br />
There are so many other traditions that I think are so antiquated but there are still people out there following these traditions. I do believe in preserving the tradition for the future but I think some tradition, we could sure live without. Is there any tradition that you find ridiculous, yet you or someone you know still follows it? Tell me about it....</div>

I am on my third blog entry and I really have no idea what to write about. I guess I could write about my other food experiments but to be the honest, I really don't feel like writing about it. Perhaps in later blog entries I will write about my other food experiments. But for now, I really have no idea what to write about.</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
I have decided that I won't tell my friends about this blog. I think I better keep this separate from my friends. I wanna try to share and be as honest as I can in this blog and while honesty is the best policy, sometimes honestly also hurts. While I admire some of the bloggers who writes their true feelings, I am, however not that brave. But I will try.<br />
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
It is funny how a brain works. While I am writing this, I came up with an idea. Something I can write about and perhaps share with you. There I was, telling you that I have nothing to write about and pop! I came up with an idea. </div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
Anyway, I will start on writing my next entry and perhaps I will post it up later. If you're intrigued, come back and check it out, OK? My dear stranger....whoever you are. Cause I know someone is reading this....I think.</div>

</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
Last week I decided to make something I have always wanted to make. A homemade burger. Not the bun though. I am really bad at baking. Anyway I found the recipe in this long forgotten recipe book that was tucked into one the boxes in the store room. I found the book when I was helping my mom clean out the store room. The thing is, I don't know who bought the book. My mom said she didn't buy it and, it sure as heck wasn't me. But there it was, a small recipe book that specialize in lamb.</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
I love lamb. Many of my friends don't like it. They said they don't like the smell but I think the smell is what makes lamb meat different. So when I saw the recipe for the Mediterranean Burger, I felt I really need to give it a go. It looks simple enough and I think I can manage it.</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
It took me several days to get all the ingredients as different ingredients requires me to go to different store. I basically found everything on the list but the pine nuts. I searched for it at all the stores I normally go and I could not find any. Posted on my facebook asking if any of my friends knew where I could find it, but none of the replies helped. When I was just about to give up I found it. It was in the nuts section of the store. I grabbed it off the shelve and was so happy until I saw the price. It was the most expensive item in that section. In fact it was twice the price of Macadamia Nut. So reluctantly I placed the pine nuts back on the shelve and find for an alternative. I picked the sunflower seeds and I got to say, it worked. So here is the finished result. Looks yummy, right?</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEg_QPo_vpkPvpO3Y6QjrHO4H_4UH8twE3XL0Fwaht6v25AHY656IWEeUjN6aReSW2XrjyOrziSgBm2L5rvI-uG8SFbCBH64xl1IRhpo92HwNgxeXfRVw6lWHxMERKCLpSw5xU6KmBuk0TjP/s1600/616415_10151227117043227_1086373207_o.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="300" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEg_QPo_vpkPvpO3Y6QjrHO4H_4UH8twE3XL0Fwaht6v25AHY656IWEeUjN6aReSW2XrjyOrziSgBm2L5rvI-uG8SFbCBH64xl1IRhpo92HwNgxeXfRVw6lWHxMERKCLpSw5xU6KmBuk0TjP/s400/616415_10151227117043227_1086373207_o.jpg" width="400" /></a></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br />
</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
I am not sure if I should post the recipe out on here as I am not sure if anyone is even reading. So I won't post it as it is not my recipe anyway. Anyway this is one of the few successful food experiments. I do find it weird that no salt was required for this recipe. I do think that if there were a little salt in the lamb patties it would had been perfect. Other then that, it was yummy.</div>

<span style="font-size: small;"><i>Starting this blog has always been something I've always wanted to do but never got around to it.</i></span> <span style="font-size: small;"><i>I wasn't sure if I could truly commit to it and post something <span style="font-size: small;">on the blog as I do find my life rather boring. Yet <span style="font-size: small;">I had been told in the past, by my friends, that I really should start blogging. When I ask <span style="font-size: small;">my friends</span> what they thin<span style="font-size: small;">k I should blog about, nobody could give me a straight <span style="font-size: small;">answer. <span style="font-size: small;">Basically just write whatever <span style="font-size: small;">I</span> feel like.</span></span></span></span></span></i></span></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<span style="font-size: small;"><i><span style="font-size: small;"><span style="font-size: small;"><span style="font-size: small;"><span style="font-size: small;"><span style="font-size: small;">I am not sure if I could really do this daily or even <span style="font-size: small;">weekly but I am willing to try. No harm in trying and I am not even sure if anybody wi<span style="font-size: small;">ll be reading this. <span style="font-size: small;">But I am willing to try. Besides, <span style="font-size: small;"><span style="font-size: small;">after</span> being <span style="font-size: small;">unemployed for so <span style="font-size: small;">long, I feel I need to <span style="font-size: small;">do something to stimulate my now <span style="font-size: small;">slow moving brain<span style="font-size: small;">. To prove how slow my brain is<span style="font-size: small;">, it took me a couple tries and with the help <span style="font-size: small;">of</span> spell check to come up with the correct spelling of <span style="font-size: small;">'unemployed.' <span style="font-size: small;">Yes....that is how bad it is. <span style="font-size: small;">So it is time to do something about<span style="font-size: small;"> it. So I <span style="font-size: small;">am starting this blog. It might be <span style="font-size: small;">a boring blog but it is my blog. So <span style="font-size: small;">I</span> get to write anything I want<span style="font-size: small;">. </span></span></span></span></span></span></span></span></span></span></span></span></span></span></span></span></span></span></span></span></span></span></i></span></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<span style="font-size: small;"><i><span style="font-size: small;"><span style="font-size: small;"><span style="font-size: small;"><span style="font-size: small;"><span style="font-size: small;"><span style="font-size: small;"><span style="font-size: small;"><span style="font-size: small;"><span style="font-size: small;"><span style="font-size: small;"><span style="font-size: small;"><span style="font-size: small;"><span style="font-size: small;"><span style="font-size: small;"><span style="font-size: small;"><span style="font-size: small;"><span style="font-size: small;"><span style="font-size: small;"><span style="font-size: small;"><span style="font-size: small;"><span style="font-size: small;"><span style="font-size: small;"><span style="font-size: small;">So if you stumble across this blog by mistake<span style="font-size: small;">, please take a seat and try to read something<span style="font-size: small;">. If its not your cup of tea, no harm no foul<span style="font-size: small;">. Thanks for <span style="font-size: small;">checking my blog out.</span></span></span></span></span></span></span></span></span></span></span></span></span></span></span></span></span></span></span></span></span></span></span></span></span></span></span></i></span></div>
